The 1885’s goal is straightforward – to bring together the support at St Mary’s Stadium, and create a fortress. We will work with all the various fan groups in Southampton with the view of creating a better atmosphere at St Mary’s.

We will do this by:

  • Arranging organised meetings with various supporter groups in Southampton. We have already secured facilities that will allow us these regular meets.
  • Bring supporters from all backgrounds together, to have a say in improving the atmosphere – afterall, we are all the 12th player!
  • Protect our clubs history, by honouring club legends with supporter owned initatives. Big crowd flags – like you see in the leagues of Spain & Italy! And why not? Think big!
  • Working with the club but remaining independent & fan driven.

Run a group of supporters who have a passion for stadium atmosphere? Free to commit time outside of matchday to meet and plan new ideas – new songs, flags, player entrance music – anything, we will discuss it! Sign below – lets meet.

Update – 18/04/2024

Just to clarify, I have with the club arranged for a section of block 44, Northam (marked in purple on attached image) – to be offered up to those who are supporting the 1885 supporters group. Once I have enough show interest in relocating to our own area, I will go back to the club by close of play Sunday with the numbers. Further instruction on ordering a ticket in this section will follow in next few days. If you have not previously expressed a desire to be in this group but wish to join us let me know using the form above.

Update 27/03/24

First meet has happened and we have now approached the club about our ideas. In the meantime, if you want to be a part of making stadium atmosphere better, fill in the form above. You can also follow us on: (1) Facebook – (and we still have not mentioned ‘ultras’ 😉 )

Update 08/02/2024 – Flags

  1. Any flags under 2m x 1m do not need a fire safety certificate.
  2. Flag poles must not be longer than 2ft in length. These will not be permitted into the stadium, as highlighted in the ground regulations.
  3. All flags larger that 2m x1m must have a fire certificate to be admitted to the stadium. In the first instance supporters should contact Safety Officer Andy Darbyshire ( adarbyshire@saintsfc.co.uk ) for further information and to request permission for larger flags to be displayed. Requests must be accompanied by a photograph of the flag or banner plus the requisite fire certification. We aim to facilitate various flag sizes as long as they do not restrict access or compromise safety within the stand.
  4. Banners must not contain foul language, be defamatory or contain political or offensive slogans and the club reserves the right to turn banners away if the content is felt to be offensive in any way.
