Early Life and Youth Career

Morgan Fernand Gérard Schneiderlin was born on November 8, 1989, in Obernai, France. He began his football journey at a young age, joining the youth ranks of Strasbourg in 1995. Over the next decade, he developed his skills and progressed through the club’s youth system, eventually signing his first professional contract in 2005.

Professional Debut and Strasbourg

Schneiderlin made his professional debut with Strasbourg’s senior team in 2006. Although his time with the first team was brief, he gained valuable experience, making five appearances before the club’s relegation from Ligue 1 in the 2007-08 season.

Southampton: Rise to Prominence

In June 2008, Schneiderlin moved to England, signing with Southampton, then a Championship club. His debut came in a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City. Over the next seven seasons, Schneiderlin became a key player for Southampton, making 261 appearances across all competitions. He played a crucial role in the club’s consecutive promotions, helping them reach the Premier League.

Manchester United and Everton

Schneiderlin’s impressive performances at Southampton earned him a move to Manchester United in July 2015 for a fee potentially rising to £27 million. However, his time at Old Trafford was less impactful, with Schneiderlin making 32 appearances and scoring one goal. In January 2017, he transferred to Everton for up to £24 million, where he made 73 appearances and scored once over three seasons.

Later Career: Nice, Western Sydney Wanderers, and Beyond

In June 2020, Schneiderlin returned to France, joining Nice. He played 48 matches for the club before being loaned to Western Sydney Wanderers in 2023, where he made 12 appearances and scored twice. Later in 2023, he signed with Konyaspor but did not make any appearances before moving to A.E. Kifisia in Greece, where he continues to play.

International Career

Schneiderlin represented France at various youth levels before making his senior debut in 2014. He earned 15 caps for the national team and was part of the squads for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016, where France finished as runners-up.
