Saints Foundation celebrates 20th anniversary with charity walk through Southampton

Saints fans are invited to take part in an exciting one-off experience, walking the history of the club to raise money for Saints Foundation in its 20th year.

Saints Foundation is inviting supporters to join them for ‘We March Together’, a
charity walk through Southampton on Saturday 9th October, to celebrate their 20th
anniversary season.

The 5km route offers Saints fans a unique opportunity to look back at the history of
their club. After a warm-up and welcome at Southampton Common, walkers will
retrace the steps many fans will know well to the site of Saints’ former home, the
Dell. The journey then stops off at St Mary’s Church, paying tribute to 135 years of
Saints history where it all began.

The walk reaches its conclusion with a special celebration event at St Mary’s
Stadium. This offers an opportunity for the local community to come together after
what has been a challenging 18 months for everyone.

All generations of families, young and old, are encouraged to come together for the
march. You may choose to walk in memory of a loved one, to celebrate their life as
Southampton FC fan or recognise the support they received from Saints Foundation.

Sign up today for just £10 for adults and £5 for children (under 4s go free!). In return,
you’ll receive a bespoke event t-shirt, medal upon completion, and a unique opportunity to walk our history with your family, friends, and maybe even some
Saints legends…

20 YEARS OF SAINTS FOUNDATION

The 2021/22 season marks Saints Foundation’s 20th year of transforming lives in and
around Southampton. Over the past two decades, the charity of Southampton FC has helped thousands of people become more involved, healthier and empowered members of their community.

One of those is 13-year-old Ellie, who has defied her disabilities to grow into a
happy, confident football player with the support of SaintsAbility sessions. You can
hear more about her inspiring story in the video on Saints Foundation’s website [https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-08-05/20-years-ellie]

In recognition of the huge strides Ellie has made with Saints Foundation, the charity
has asked her to open the celebrations and lead the march on 9 th October.
They are encouraging Saints fans and Southampton residents to join Ellie and march
in this once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the history between the club, its charity and
our city.
